June 2007
Dear
Friends
I
was just thinking the other day how good it is to be part of the Church family.
For the Church really is just like a family isn’t it? Or at least it should be. All the ages and
stages of a family are represented. We share all sorts of emotions together –
some happy and positive – others sad and giving us cause for reflection. But
through it all we have the constant assurance that the “family” will always be
there for us, will put up with us and stand by us, will give us strength and
encouragement, will care for us, guide us and help us to have perspective……and
so the list goes on.
I
wonder if that is your experience of Church. It’s what it should be like. I
know over the years that that has been my over-riding experience of the Church.
Maybe at times it hasn’t been like that for you. Well then you should remember
that just as in any human family we don’t always get it right – but we
shouldn’t give up because of it!!! Rather we should persevere and each take our part in making it what it should be. For it’s only
in participating that we can fully give and receive true fellowship and oneness
of Spirit
I
recently enjoyed participating in the sponsored walk for the Church. What a
great day we had – the weather was just right – the company and fellowship
excellent and the feeling of togetherness was really positive and uplifting.
At
least that’s how I found it!!!! I hope that everyone else who took part found
it that way too. If you didn’t come along or were unable to take part then I’m
sorry you missed such a good time!
We
now have our Summer Fete to look forward to. This is a new venture for us and I
hope you will all want to support your Church by your donations, by
volunteering to help, by coming along and being part of it. I’m sure it’s going
to be a good day (no matter the weather!!!!) – so I
look forward to seeing you there.
I
hope you all are doing fine and that God’s love and special blessing is yours
in the days ahead
With
love and prayers
Fiona
