BOYS’
BRIGADE
The anchor boys and juniors recently took part in the battalion fun day which they appeared to enjoy. The juniors have taken part in the sports where Stephen Mulhearn won two silver medals. They have also played in the seven aside football and the Gartcosh five asides. We recently held our parents night which was well attended by parents and friends. I would like to thank Mr Alex Anderson the junior section chairperson for being our inspecting officer. Thanks also go to Mrs Ishbel Rankin and Mrs Andrea Walker for their continued help and support and to Mrs Scott for playing the piano. The main awards this year went to junior best recruit Thomas Martin and the best boy William Armour. The company section best boy was William Rodger, the captains medal went to Kal Davis. The highlight was the presentation of

Rodger and John Scougall congratulations to all these young men on a job well
done. In closing can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us
this session and hope for your continued support. Thanks to all the boys who
turn up and take part in everything and finally to the officers, without whom
there would be no company. Hope to see you all next session. Jim

Some of the guides and Guiders are doing the Great Scottish Walk on
Sunday 20th June, which is taking place in Edinburgh.
This walk will covers 6 miles and is a sponsored walk. The proceeds
that the unit raises will be split between the Netherurd Scottish Training
Centre who are building a new Brownie House (3/4 of money raised) and our unit
keeping the rest. The new Brownie House will have up to date equipment for both
able and handicapped Brownies and guides.
If you would like to sponsor us on this event please contact myself or
any other guide or guider in the unit.
